If you're not ordering English subtitles or captions

If you're ordering translation subtitles, we'd love to be able to give you free choice and just charge you our £10 flat rate for any languages you want.

But the fact is we're a mainly English-speaking company, and all our captioners and subtitlers are native English speakers.

Now, even if English is not one of the languages you're ordering from us, we still have to create subtitles in English before we can translate into other languages. Skipping the English stage and creating subtitles directly in other languages is much more expensive, and if we tried to do it that way our prices would be quite a lot higher.

If you're ordering subtitles in a number of languages and one of them is English (subtitles or captions), you pay the straightforward flat rate of £10 a minute for each language. No problem.

If on the other hand the list of languages you need doesn't include English, we still have to make an English file for our team to work from, so we add a £5 per minute surcharge to your order to cover some of the extra cost of creating that English file. (That's one surcharge per order, not one per language.)
