Thinking DigitalWritten by Rob Colling Tuesday, 19 May 2009 10:53 The Thinking Digital conference ran from 13th to 15th May, filling the Sage Gateshead with all kinds of wonderment and insanity. I was there for all three days, and now my brain is threatening to leak out of my nostrils a little bit. Cited by many as the north-east’s answer to TED, Thinking Digital is billed as a free-ranging insight into “technology, ideas and our future”. It's a bit like Tomorrow's World for grown-ups, equal parts communication, inspiration and revelation. I’m bound to come to grief on word count alone if I try and describe the whole thing in one go, so we’ll be revisiting aspects of the conference in blog posts to come. Internetsubtitling.com will be captioning the talks as they appear online, too, so there'll be plenty of time to take a bloggerly look at specific speakers. For now, I’m simply going to thank Herb Kim of Codeworks, Jim TerKeurst of the IDI and Mike Southon of Beermat.biz for the various mentions and bits of exposure they put our way, and the whole Thinking Digital team for putting together such a gemlike nugget of freethinking marvellousness.
